A lot of people don’t know, but I come from what people call a “broken family.” My dad used to abuse me, and my mom left my little brother and I homeless. My dad left to Vietnam for a few months so my little brother had nowhere to go. My mom was too unstable to take care of him, so she sent him to live in a haven. A fucking haven.

So I’m making it my mission to protect & help children that are going through what I went through. Because absolutely no child should go through it. There’s no point in having children if you can’t raise one properly.

Going to see my mom for the first time in a long time, tomorrow. A little over 5 years ago, she walked out of my life without hesitation & didn’t look back. Now that successful, she wants to be back in my life. Not gonna lie, I’m still hurt from what she did but I guess I just have to forgive & forget. All I know is, I will be a better mother than her & I will do whatever it takes to be there for my children.

Often in life, the most important question we can ask ourselves is: do we really have the problem we think we have? Sheri Fink

I am a strong person. But every once in a while I would like someone to hold my hand and tell me things are going to be OK. Unknown (via rlyrlyugly)
We teach females that in relationships, compromise is what women do. We raise girls to see each other as competitors, not for jobs or for accomplishments— which I think can be a good thing— but for the attention of men. We teach girls that they cannot be sexual beings in the way that boys are. If we have sons, we don’t mind knowing about our sons’ girlfriends, but our daughters boyfriends? ‘God forbid!’ But of course when the time is right, we expect those girls to bring back the perfect man to be their husband. We police girls, we praise girls for virginity, but we don’t praise boys for virginity. And it’s always made me wonder how exactly this is supposed to work out because *laughs* the loss of virginity is usually a process that involves *laughs*…
We teach girls shame. ‘Close your legs!’ ‘Cover yourself!’ We make them feel as though by being born female, they are already guilty of something. And so, girls grow up to be women who cannot say they have desire. They grow up to be women who silence themselves. They grow up to be women who cannot say what they truly think. And they grow up—and this is the worst thing we do to girls—they grow up to be women who have turned pretense into an artform.

Before morning workout

Eat within 30 minutes of waking up so you can jump-start your metabolism. Having some oatmeal, a banana, eggs are all great choice to start your day

Before afternoon workout

Your pre-workout snack should consist of foods that are easy to digest, low-fiber and low-fat within the hour. A banana, apple slices with peanut butter

After your workout

Eat within 30 mins - 1hours after your workout so your body doesn’t start burning muscle. The key factor is fuelling your body with protein. Handful of almonds or a protein shake, fruit smoothie with skim milk, cottage cheese with fruit, greek yogurt with fruit
